I know firsthand how difficult it can be to find trendy maternity clothes [that you can afford!]. I also know that not all of us have that “I feel beautiful no matter how big my belly gets” feeling, whether people tell us we are glowing or not. Last summer I lived in dresses and leggings with oversized tanks or babydoll tops … and not all of it was maternity wear. Tatyanna Wright’s Haute Mama Style File for May highlights four ways to wear a black mini skirt. [You will have to click on the link to see the other three ways to rock the mini!] Ms. Wright also has a great blog and book coming out … check that out by clicking here.
This strapless floral maternity dress [which doubles as a beach cover-up] by Maternal America almost makes me want to be pregnant again. There is even a matching halter tankini and, if you dare, a cute bikini.
These two super stylish looks are also from Maternal America [there is a list of stores for purchase on their site]. I love yellow and blue together – this looks like something I would wear right now! And that white on white ensemble is sooo adorably flirty! And the best thing is that these tops/dresses can be worn after the baby comes too. I love versatility when it comes to clothing.
Known widely for their great fitting [yet somewhat pricey] maternity jeans [in addition to their own label, they also carry mommy jeans by lucky, joe’s jeans, and collection!], a pea in the pod does have some really great clothes for you mamas to be. And if you look hard enough, you can find some budget friendly pieces like this orange smock dress for $68USD …
… or these khaki shorts for only $34.99USD [originally $95!!]. They also have a really good selection of tops and tanks for spring and summer at $40USD and under!
And don’t forget that so many ‘names we know’ are carrying maternity these days … GAP , Target , and Old Navy to name a few. Most importantly, don’t get discouraged. You DO look beautiful … no matter how big your belly gets. XO
